Algeria: Algiers – Restored Houses in the Casbah

Architecturally, the houses in casbah are very interesting – especially the ones that belonged to rich merchants and royalty back on the days. One of such houses has been restored and turned into a museum. Outside – it looks like a prison with hardly any windows (just narrow slits). But inside – it’s a large courtyard with elaborate windows and staircases and marble pilars, and decorated mosaic walls. You can also get to the rooftop for a panoramic view of the Casbah of Algiers.
