Australia: Dugongs at Shark Bay
From Monkey Mia you can take a wildlife marine cruise on a catamaran to explore the rich seagrass beds around the shore of Shark Bay. Shark Bay contains 1/8 of the entire world’s population of dugongs, the ocean-dwelling relatives of manatees, aka sea cows. These are large animals, that only come out to breeze for a few seconds every 6-7 minutes while spending the rest on underwater seagrass pastures. Of course you get to see dolphins as well
