Australia: Horizontal Falls in the Buccaneer Archipelago

There are only two horizontal waterfalls in the world and they are located next to each other in the north of Australia in the Buccaneer Archipelago of islands. Technically, these are not falls but fast moving tidal flows (among the fastest and most massive in the world). As the water rushes through two narrow gorges located close to each other, it creates an illusion of a waterfall from the air. The tide and the falls change direction every day as the water rises and falls. Its a spectacular sight from the air. You can fly to see it from Broome and Derby.
