Austria: Grossglockner High Alpine Road

Grossglockner High Alpine Road (or Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse – say that ten times) is an incredibly engineered high mountain road going around Grosslockner, the highest mountain in Austria at 3798 meters. The road goes for 39 km with 36 hairpin switchbacks and loops. Overlooks of the surrounding mountains are everywhere, including one place where you can see 31 peaks over 3000m high! Easily one of the most spectacular and breathtaking roads in the world!
