Bahrain: Flamingos in Arad Bay
Who could have thought that the island of Bahrain is home for two species of flamingos during their migration! Both greater and lesser flamingos congregate in sheltered Arad Bay and Sitra coastline in quite great numbers. Surreal pics of the city skyline and hundreds of flamingos in the foreground. There are also many other water birds – ducks, gulls, sandpipers, cormorants – but seeing flamingos in such proximity and urban setting is quite unusual and surreal.
