Bolivia: Salar Uyuni – Endless Salt Plane

Salar de Uyuni is the world’s largest salt flat covering an area of over 10K sq km (4k sq miles). It is located in the Bolivian Altiplano at an elevation of ~12k feet (3.5k meters) and is one of the driest places on earth. There is salt to horizons in all directions here. The salt crust covered a pool of brine which contains ~70% of the world’s lithium reserves (recharge you batteries here?). Flatness and lack of objects creates an opportunity to play with depth perception illusions.
