Botswana: Watching Leopard at Savuti

Driving down the sandy dirt road on a game drive and all of a sudden – boom! – a leopard sitting hidden in the bush, intensely watching the nearby herd of letchwe antelopes and not really caring about the cars. Having seen the 4 of the Big 5 on this trip, the leopard was a awesome final one. For the next two hours it was leopard observation like watching a National Geographic show – he stalked the antelopes but they went away, he lounged in the grass and then got up and started walking around in the grassland and on the road. A beautiful and graceful animals, he sadly had several recent wounds on his side from having been gored by the warthog’s tusks.
