Canada/YT & USA/AK: Driving the Alaska Highway

Alaska Highway aka ALCAN Highway is an epic drive connecting British Columbia, Yukon, and Alaska though some of the most spectacular terrain of mountains, lakes, gorges, and boreal forests. For this trip, I’ve driven the northern half of it from Delta Junction to Whitehorse and then back up again, roughly 2,000km round trip. There are hardly any towns in between – just pit stops with a gas station, a souvenir shop, a visitor center, and a diner serving burgers. The road is also quite empty with only occasional RV campers ploughing the legendary route. Several moose sightings, one black bear, and even one wolf farting across the road.
