Cook Islands: Atiu – Coastline

Moving on to the next, a third and final island of the Cool Islands to be visited – Atiu. This is really off the beaten path as roughly 1% of tourists visiting the country make it to this island. Unlike the sandy Aitutaki, Atiu is just an uplifted limestone rock (like Niue). There are no swim able beaches, and the waves are rough and deeply since the dropoffs are massive. The waves roll in perfect barrels into the coastline but they are not surfable since you would get almost surely crushed against the pinnacles of the shore.
