Croatia: Korcula

Korkula is an island and a walled town of the same name off the Dalmatian coast of Croatia. It has a very rich and ancient history – first built and settled as a Greek colony in 12th century BC, later part of the Roman Empire, and eventually a Slavic town. Turret towers all around, the town is a super compact maze of narrow streets. Any place on the perimeter you can sit on the city walls and enjoy a drink with a fantastic view toward the azure sea.
