England: York – National Railway Museum

The world’s largest railway museum (or so it claims) is located in York, with a collection of over 100 mostly British locomotives throughout the entire railroad history. There are multiple halls here – from the main hall with all the locomotives that you can climb in and out of (including Eurostar and Shinkansen bullet trains), to a fully recreated historic English train station, to outdoor exhibits, to historic artifacts, to a massive collection of model trains. Nearly a million people come here every year.
