French Polynesia/Bora Bora: Going Twizy
In Bora Bora you can rent a futuristic mini electric car and ride “back to the future” in style, if a bit cramped. The vehicle is Ranault Twizy, a 450 kg /992 lb single-gear little bubble of a car that can run close to a 100km in one electrical charge (I circumnavigated the island twice in it). With upward opening doors and sleek futuristic looks, you almost expect this car to take off and fly. And it makes for some great photo-ops with the blue lagoon and palms in the background.
