French Polynesia/Bora Bora: Swimming with Manta Rays
Finally, I saw manta rays. The massive animals rich to 7m/23 feet in length and look like giant spaceships roaming the blue watery depths. The animals are filter feeders and swim with their mouths open at the front of the head sucking in huge amounts of plankton along the way. This particular manta ray was circling a coral bed at a deeper part of the Bora Bora lagoon. The species is endangered.
