French Polynesia/Huahine: Royal Huahine Resort

Huahine island is definitely off the beaten track in Polynesia, tourists flock to Bora Bora and Moorea and skip this island. Too bad, because the Royal Huahine resort here offers the ultimate in seclusion and quiet tropical paradise. It’s a half hour ride across the Huahine lagoon to get to the inaccessible part of the Huahine Island where no roads lead. Spectacular overwater bungalows (perhaps a bit less posh and slightly dated when compared to big brand name resorts) are still awesome with the reef just beneath your room, the views of the next island of Raiatea in the west, and great white sand beach that you can basically have almost to yourself!
