French Polynesia/Moorea: Motu Tiahura

Motu means “islet” in Polynesian, typically every island surrounded by a coral lagoon will have some Motu islets surrounding it. The best sandy beaches and the best snorkeling are typically around these motu. Motu Tiahura on the northwest of Moorea is the biggest islet and the most beautiful with absolute transparent and almost translucent water and views back on the green mountains of Moorea.
