French Polynesia/Taha’a: Le Tahaa Resort

Of all the French Polynesia luxe resorts, Le Taha’a Resort Private Island got raving reviews from Lonely Planet and several other guides. Unlike Bora Bora resorts that are pompous and not really isolated or the Moorea resorts that are actually located on the shore, Le Tahaa stands out as an absolutely exclusive destination resort. It sits on one of the motu islets surrounding Taha’a island and is effectively on its own private island. You are far and away from any civilization. All the bungalows are over water, all with panoramic views of the Tahaa’a island and the surrounding motus, all with access to the lagoon just below your feet. The bungalows are incredible inside and out with Polynesian motives, and a floor that you can open and lit up at night. Added bonus – you are located next to a motu Tau Tau islet that has the famous Tahaa Coral Garden, supposedly the best drift snorkel site in the entire French Polynesia with the healthiest corals. Throw in all the other perks like infinity pools, hammocks hanging between curving palms, freshest seafood at multiple restaurants, whitest sand and clearest water – and you got yourself an exclusive 5-star paradise that blows everything else away. And this is just my opinion…
