Gambia: Old Town Banjul

Banjul is the Gambia’s capital but not the largest city – it’s a small town of only 40,000 people and is located on an island. It has an area designated as an old town, where many steep-roofed houses date back to the 17th century. But to be honest, the whole town looks decrepit and falling apart – buildings are shabby, either breaking apart of half built, streets no paved and dirty, and it’s just a mess all around.
