Gibraltar: Great Siege Tunnels

Great Siege Tunnels are located on the top of the rock of Gibraltar and face east toward Spain. They were dug out of solid limestone during the siege of 1779 (the fourteenth siege of Gibraltar by then). From high above and with a perfect view of Spain below, the British could repel any advance toward the rock and the city beneath.
