Indonesia: Java – Kraton Palace in Yogyocarta

Kraton Palace of Yogyakarta is the seat of the Javanese Sultan and a place of a significant religious importance. It was built in 1755, then completely destroyed by the British in 1812, then rebuilt by another sultan in 1921, just to be destroyed again by an earthquake in 2006. The current structures are rather simple but important nonetheless for thousand of people coming here to pray and pay respects.
