Israel: Haifa – Baha’i Hanging Gardens

Haifa’s main attraction is the Baha’i Shrine of the Bab and the Hanging Gardens cascading down Mount Carmel. From the top of the gardens you can see the entire city, the sea, the port, the coastal mountain ranges, and of course the gardens and the shrine. The gardens were designed by a famous Iranian architect and incorporate elements of elements of the Persian gardens of Shiraz in Iran, the Nishat Bagh gardens of Indian Kashmir, and the traditional English gardens. Best viewed in the afternoon site; it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
