Italy: Dolomite Alps – Skiing Val Gardena

Dolomite Alps are truly spectacular with jagged sharp peaks poking around, and this landscape goes for miles and miles. Dolomites was one of the first sites to be named as UNESCO World Heritage in the natural beauty category. Val Gardena is one of the central area with incredible panoramic views of mountains, including the massive Sella group. Val Gardena is also famous for the Saslong track, where world championship skiing is held every year and many of the records in both downhill and super-g were set. It’s a black diamond track and – yes – I skied down it.
