Kamchatka (Russia): Ksudach Volcano

Ksudach Volcano is the first stop on the flight from Kurilskoye Lake to Petropavlovsk. The helicopter makes 2-3 loops above the spectacular caldera before landing on the crater lake’s shore. The caldera actually has three lakes sunk in it, following a massive eruption in 1907, one of the largest volcanic eruptions ever in Kamchatka.
