Kyrgyzstan: Uzgen

Uzgen is an ancient town in the southern Kyrgyzstan dating back to the 2nd century BC. It was one of the capitals of the Karakhanid Empire. There is an archeological complex from the 12th century that is the main attraction in the city – it includes 3 Karakhanid mausoleums and a minaret. The Uzgen Minaret is the most famous feature here, at 27.5 m (90 feet) tall. Climb up to the top afford panoramic views of the entire coty and the valley.
