Lithuania: Palanga Beaches

Keeping with the theme of contrasts, what better place is there to follow the Devils Museum than then Field of Crosses. A hill with over 1 million crosses, huge/small/medium/tiny, spread over a mound in the suburbs of Siauliai in northern Lithuania. The first crosses were places here in 1831 and then pilgrimage began with everyone bringing and leaving a cross or two or a dozen. It’s hugely popular with Polish and majority of people were speaking Polish. I didn’t tell anyone I was around devils just before, nor did I attempt to discuss women’s right to choose.
