Micronesia: Kayaking in the mangroves in Kosrae
Kosrae has four types of mangrove trees growing all around the island – unique trees that survive in the salt water by sending up breathing and de-salivating roots from the ground and hanging similar alien-looking probes from the branches above. You can kayak along the many calm-water lagoons covered with mangroves, going through narrow tight-to-squeeze channels, diving under low branches, and watching the amazing reflections in still water.
