Netherlands: The Flower Route (Bulb Fields)

One of the most spectacular sights in the world happens in Holland in the late April/early May when fields and fields of tulips and other bulb flowers light up the landscape to horizons. The Flower Route (Bloemen Route) follows the fields south of Amsterdam for about 20 kilometers. The Dutch never really gave up on the tulip mania and now cultivate the tulips of all colors, shapes, and sizes. The route culminates in the Keukenhof Gardens.
