Pitcairn: St Paul’s Rock Pool

St Paul’s Rock Pool is without a doubt the most spectacular site of the Pitcairn island. It’s a natural lava rock pool at the westernmost point of the island. After scrambling down the bare rocks, you can get to the amazing crystal clear ocean pool that is fed from an underground hole connected to the outer ocean. It could make for some spectacular swimming and snorkeling on a calm day, but unfortunately when the seas are high and rough, the waves create an overflow and a strong current in the pool that can sweep you out into the open ocean (happened to few people on the past). So I had to settle settle for just enjoying the stunning views.
