Portugal: Porto – Se Cathedral

The massive Cathedral of Porto (aka Se Cathedral) looks more like a fortress then a church – two massive fat towers standing on top of a terrace with the entire Porto old town beneath it (panoramic views abound). The cathedral was found in the 12th century and was continually expanded over the next 600 years. The inside is equally fortress-like – it’s rather dark and the chill of religion penetrates down to the ones.
