Serbia: Sremski Karlovci

A small town near Novy Sad, Sremski Karlovci is often touted as the most beautiful towns in Serbia. And while it’s most certainly not mind blowing, it is rather pretty with plenty of baroque architecture, a catholic church standing next to an orthodox cathedral, a beautiful fountain, an imposing townhall building, and an ornate gymnasium (first secondary school in Serbia). The town is rather off the beaten path and everything seems faded and aged, which makes it authentic looking. The town is also known for over a dozen wine cellars located here.
