Buryatia: Lava Crater near Arshan
The landscape at the foothills of Arshan mountains is dotted by dozens of small implosion lava craters and domes – reminder of the areas volcanic past. Pumice of all shades of red and brown cover the ground and massive lava walls tower at the craters edge. The crater seem out of place is the landscape of green steppes and towering Sayan mountain range in the distance.
