Singapore: Supertrees at Daytime

Supertrees are perhaps the most incredible element of the futuristic Garden by the Bay. Most are 25m/82ft high and several are super tall at 50m/160ft. Their trunks are covered with growing ferns, orchids, moss, vines, bromeliads and other tropical plants. The Supertrees are designed to replicate the role actual trees play in the forest and make the Garden at the Bay ecosystem completely self-sufficient. The trees harvest solar energy with the panels in their “canopy”, they collect rainwater for the entire gardens/fountains/conservatory pavilions, they recycle air from the glass greenhouses. A Skyway connects several of the super tall trees and you get a panorama of the entire Supertree area as well the Marina Bay Sands Hotel.
