Spain/Andalusia: Granada – Alhambra & Generalife

Alhambra Palaces and Fortress rise above the modern town of Granada with panoramic views all around. Alhambra served as the residence of Emirs that ruled the Moorish Spain for in the 13-14th century. The palaces are truly grand with amazing Islamic architecture and lavish residential buildings and decorations. Thick walls and towers surround the perimeter. A short walk leads to the Generalife Gardens which served as the summer residence for the emirs. Both are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
