Spain/Andalusia: Ronda

Going inland to explore Andalusia’s mountain pueblo blanco white towns. Ronda is the the most tourist one of all and for a reason – the town sits on a clifftop with a huge 150 meter / 400 feet sheer drop canyon separating the old town from the new. Three bridges connect the sides of the canyon, but the Puente Nuevo, built in 1797 is the most dramatic and spectacular and thus draws hordes of tourists. The views of both sides of the canyon, the white houses clinging to the top, and the bridge itself are stunning. Beyond the bridge, the town has several other attractions – like churches, narrow cobblestone streets, ornate townhall, etc. Most importantly, Ronda’s bullring is the oldest in Spain!
