Spain/Aragon: Zaragoza

Zaragoza is one the largest cities in Spain full of architectural and cultural attractions – there are beautiful squares, massive cathedrals and churches, historic buildings, Roman ruins (the city was founded by Romans as Caesaraugusta), and great cuisine. Most attractions are clustered around one large square near the Erbo river – the massive Cathedral of Zaragoza takes more then a block (I tried from every possible angle but I couldn’t fit all of it into one shot). The cathedral’s architecture is equally grandiose inside as it is from the outside – with massive vaulted ceilings and echo-caring halls. Not far away is Roman Forum and ancient ruins of the Roman city walls. On the other side of the cathedral is the Lodja (trading exchange) and Basilica del Pilar.
