Taiwan: Sun Moon Lake
Sun Moon Lake is another natural gem of Taiwan – a large inland lake at over 6,000 feet elevation. Supposedly, the east side resembles the sun, while the west side looks like moon – hence the name. You can drive around the entire lake for panoramic scenic views but you can also take a cable car wishing you much higher above the water for even more breathtaking scenery. There are several temples dotting the lake shores.
