Tuamotu/Fakarava: Les Sable Rose (Pink Sand)

This place on a far-flung part of the Fakarava atoll (a 1.5-hour boat ride across the lagoon) was mindblowingly beautiful and perhaps in top 10 of natural places I have seen ever. The orange/yellow/pink sands create stunning beaches around several motu (islets). The sand patterns are somewhat reminiscent of the slot canyons or the famous Wave of the American southwest. Turquoise water laps the orange sand and palm trees sway over like a scene from some tropical vacation commercial entirely made in CGI.
