Uganda: Murchison Falls NP – Game Drives

Murchison Falls National Park is by far the largest park in Uganda covering a massive savanna and forest territory straddling the Victoria Nile as it comes out from Lake Victoria and flows into Lake Albert. Most animals are seen in the open savanna on the northern bank of the river during an early morning game drive – a typical textbook safari landscape. Endless plains filled with wildlife – Ugandan Cob (an antelope found only in Uganda and the country’s national symbol), bufallo, waterbucks, bushbucks, oribi (another new antelope species for me), hartebeest, reedbuck (yet another new one), as well as elephants, Rotschild’s giraffes, and a funny looking patas savanna monkeys. Plus the Nile monitor lizards and tons of birds. And a spectacular sunrise!
