Uganda: Rwenzori NP – Descend via Okulebo Valley

The route down is different from the one up, going steeply down a beautiful Okulebo Valley to the north of the original route. The previous day, a freak hail storm pounded the mountains for about 2 hours (we got caught in the tail end of it), and the next morning the ground was covered in pea-sized hail pellets. On the way down – spotted several red duikers (small mountain antelope) and even rock hyraxes (weasel-like furry animals). The towering walls of the v-shaped valley were spectacular all around.
