USA/CA: Almond Orchards in California Valley

As we drove through Central California there were endless orchards of some trees vaguely resembling peaches but clearly being something else. These were almond trees! Although the almond tree is originally from Iran, California now produces 80% of the entire world supply of almonds, it is by far the biggest cash crop in the California’s Central Valley. This is also number one agricultural export of California. We couldn’t help ourselves from stopping and trying raw pure fresh juicy almond – quite different taste from what you get in stores.
