USA/CA: Humboldt Redwoods State Park

Humboldt Redwoods State Park is not part of the Northern California stretch of coastal Redwood. Instead, it’s located more inland and away from the coastal fog, which apparently is not very good for the trees. And this park is a total hidden gem and blows the rest of redwood parks out of competition – it is the worlds largest stand of pure redwood forests! Every tree here is a massive redwood, stretching for miles and miles and the highest concentration is in the Founders Grove. A scenic winding road called Avenue of the Giants runs through the park. Out of 137 known redwood trees over 350 feet (110 m) tall, over a 100 grow here in the Humboldt Redwoods State Park! Trails go through the best stands of the trees and to some massive fallen giants.
