USA/FL: Gulf Islands National Seashore

Gulf Islands National Seashore encompasses seven barrier islands and mainland along the Florida/Alabama/Mississippi border of the Gulf of Mexico. It is absolutely, ten out of ten, surreal scenery of sparkling snow-white quartz sand dunes and beaches that are unlike any other place on earth! The entire national park unit is over 160 miles / 250 km of pristine, untouched and undeveloped, natural beaches. Desolate and empty – just sand, dune wildflowers, green waves, pelicans flying above you…. this is nature at its purest and rawest. Paradise! Except for occasional devastating hurricanes, which strike this stretch of the coast quite often.
