USA/FL: Key West – Duval Street
Strolling down and up the Duval Street is the main attraction in Key West (after visiting the southern point). All the historic houses and points of interest are located along, starting from the Southernmost Point and ending at Mallory Square. The street is named after William Pope Duval, the first territorial governor of Florida. Museums, churches, restaurants, bars, art galleries – all line up along the street. Ernst Hemingway house is here as is the Oldest House in Florida from 1829. The famous Sloppy Joe’s Bar, opened in 1933 and designated a National Historic Landmark, is here as well. The Key West Lighthouse is just a block off. And not to be missed is the Strand.
