USA/NY: Taughannock Falls State Park

Taughannock Falls Is another spectacular waterfall in northeast upstate New York state. The waterfall is a single drop of 215 ft (66 m) from a massive amphitheater of shale rock – very spectacular! It’s about 1km flat trail to the bottom of the falls from the parking area. This whole area used to be a sea million years ago and the sedimentary siltstone shale rocks here are quite old and supposedly full of various relic stone fossils of shills and animals from the Earth’s past.
