USA/SD: Badlands National Park

Finally, a truly spectacular eye-candy national park – Badlands. The massive park is a showcase of natural forces of erosion creating amazing structures out of clay – pinnacles, buttes, spires, towers, canyons, and everything else imaginable. It’s like being on the surface of Mars – everything is inhospitable, desolate, dry, and orangy-red. Some areas of badlands have many colorful striations where the clay is green and yellow and brown. A road goes though entire park with many spectacular overlooks and hikes of various length (although it’s quite hot). The badlands seemingly got to horizon and as far as the eye can see!
