USA/CA: Death Valley NP – Climbing Telescope Peak

Telescope Peak is the highest point in Death Valley National Park rising 11043 ft /  3366 m above sea level. It makes for a fantastic all day hike to the top. The panorama of Death Valley that unfolds in front of you is truly surreal. Interestingly, from the top you can see the Badwater Basin, which is the lowest point in the USA at −279 feet / −85 m, it’s just 15 miles away. Also, just 60 miles away is the highest point in the continental USA – Mount Whitney.
