USA/NV: National Automobile Museum in Reno

This is one of the largest public collections of automobiles in the USA and the world – over 200 vehicles from the late 19th century to mid 20th century. All of them are part of the former collection of the Harrah casino magnate, William F. Harrah. At the time of his death in 1978, he had 1450 cars in his personal collection, making it the biggest in the world. Sadly, Holiday Inn that bought his estate sold most of the cars with only 200 preserved as a museum in Reno. Still, the display is astounding and cars are awesome, most from the the 1900-1930 vintages, and in immaculate condition. There are also race cars and many classic American massive cars from the 60s. There are four celebrity-owned cars here as well – Elvis Presley’s Cadillac Eldorado, Frank Sinatra’s Ghia, John F Kennedy’s Lincoln Continental, and John Wayne’s Chevrolet Corvette. A definitive must see!
