Uzbekistan: Taking Afrosiyob Train

Uzbekistan actually operates modern high-speed bullet trains between Samarkand, Bukhara, and Tashkent. We took one from Samarknd to Bukhara, a super quick and stylish hop of just about 2.5 hours traveling at smooth 250km/hr. The trains are actually manufactured by Talgo, a Spanish manufacturer of trains connect Madrid and Barca. Two trainsets run the triangular route a couple times per day, connecting the three major Uzbek cities and making traveling a breeze and super cheap. Brand new train lines were laid for these trains between 2011-17. Albeit, the Bukhara train station is located quite far from the city.
