Zanzibar: Old Fort of Zanzibar
The Old Fort of Zanzibar is the oldest building on the island, located at the waterfront position at the tip of the historic Stone Town. It was built in the 17th century at the height of the Sultanate of Oman to protect against the Portuguese and is square in shape with four defensive round tours and high walls. It’s built from coral limestone. You can climb the walls and into the towers for some awesome panoramic views of the sea and the Stone Town
