Italy: Bologna
Bologna is the historic capital of the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. Its most famous attraction is Piazza Maggiore with the historic City Hall, the amazing Neptune Fountain, and the Basilica di San Petronio surrounding it. Another sight are two medieval towers – Garisenda and the leaning Asinelli. And of course Bologna is considered to the the gastronomic capital of Italy – nothing like trying the authentic Parma Ham (Prosciutto di parma), Bolgnese sause on your pasta (Tagliatelle al ragu), and a jar of wine.
