Canada/Quebec: Mingan Archipelago NP – Ile Nue de Mingan

The Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve is an otherworldly place in the far northeastern Quebec protecting an archipelago of over 40 islands. The islands formed during the last Ice Age and the glaciers shaped the ancient limestone rock into bizarre sculptures and figures, while the winds and salt waves of the Gulf of St Lawrence carved and eroded the rock even more. île Nue de Mingan is the westernmost island and the first to be explored – spectacular limestone monoliths stand on the north and southeast of the island.
